 Island Camp Baringo  is situated on Ol Kokwe Island and is owned by the Ol Kokwe Self Help Group.All the electrical power at the camp is supplied by generator.

Luxury tents

The Island Camp Baringo  comprises of 23 luxury tents with en-suite bathroom whether Twin, Double or Triple (for families).

All the tents are shaded by a roof of Papyrus (local reeds) and are separated by green lawns and natural rockeries. They overlook the lake and beyond to the Great Rift Valley. The majority of the Tents face the east to catch the beautiful sunrises across the lake.

For honey mooners, the Honeymoon suite is bigger and with a beautiful decor.

The Island Camp Baringo is the perfect location to sit back, relax and watch the world go by. One can experience  some of these activities as well:

Culture Walk

Walk across the Island and meet the local community, visit the school and soak up the Njema's culture.

Lake Shore Cruise / Champagne Breakfast

Experience the early morning sunlight as you cruise across to the lake shore and see hippo wallowing in the shallows. Waterfowl mingle with the basking crocodiles amidst the ringing sound of tree frogs.

The trip back includes the spectacle of fish eagles feeding.

An optional extra you can choose to end your Lake Shore Cruise with a Champagne Breakfast, you will be served breakfast on a secluded Island Beach.

The staff will cater to your every need while you sip your cold sparkling wine and enjoy the beauty of the early morning.

Ol Kokwa Island Cruise

An early morning cruise around the Island to visit an Njemps village and the hot springs.There is a good chance of sighting crocodile and terrific opportunities for bird photography.

Bird Walks

The Island is home to literally hundreds of different bird species.The resident guide leads bird walks around the camp and the lakeshore in the cool of the early morning and evening.

Sundowner on Gibralter Rock

A short cruise to Lesukut Island and a rocky climb to the top brings you to a perfect spot to experience a Baringo sunset.
