Lake Baringo Country Club is a neat, compact hotel on the Lake Shore. Set amidst lush green lawns and bougainvillea gardens with abundant bird life. Its intimate, cozy nature makes the Club ideal for a ‘get away from it all’ conference or weekend out of Nairobi.
There are two hot springs in the area. One on a nearby island makes a memorable safari – it is a two hour trip, leaving plenty of time to see the wildlife enroute.Day trips can also be organized to see the springs at Lake Bogoria.
Lake Baringo has its own special atmosphere of peace and calm where hippos graze at night on the lawns. Over 460 species of birds have been recorded so it’s no surprise that Lake Baringo is a Mecca for bird watchers and a highlight of the Ornithology circuit of East Africa. A resident Ornithologist leads bird walks before breakfast and in the evening. You can buy a checklist of the Birds of Lake Baringo, identify the trees with a printed guide and read a daily log of species seen in the grounds.

The first thing you find in your room is a newsletter with details of what’s nesting where in the hotel grounds. The rooms at Lake Baringo Country Club are cool and comfortable with a central overhead fan, mosquito nets around the beds and a decent shower, en-suite facilities, overhead fans and mosquito nets with mosquito-proof windows Lake Baringo Country club has 47 rooms in two wings: - Pool Wing - 07 twin rooms and Lake Wing - 40 twin rooms. The rooms are simple spacious rooms with private verandas all with a view of the lake
Facilities and services Boat rides at the Lake Baringo Club are rented for those who would be interested in the Hippos or Crocodiles basking on the shores of the lake. Other services include laundry/dry cleaning, gift shop, telephone, fax and email. Lake Baringo Club offers luxurious Family Suites, Pool Wing rooms and Lake Wing rooms. Children love Lake Baringo for its games room, TV/Video and a fully equipped playground. The Club also provides a special dinner menu for kids.
Swimming Pool – a small freshwater pool with its own bar is shaded by colorful bougainvillea. Hippo Lounge – open sided, overlooks the lawns and lake, ideal for relaxation, board games and lectures. Games - draughts, cards, scrabble, dominoes, chess and badminton are available from the reception.  Bird walks - Two scheduled walks a day with a resident ornithologist. Walkers are transported the short distance to the cliff, the home of many large birds of prey and noisy restless ‘bush’ birds.
