National Botanical Gardens
South Africa has eight National Botanical Gardens which are managed by the South African National Biodiversity Institute. The focus of the National Botanical Gardens is
growing and conserving South Africa’s indigenous plants, conserving over 1,350 hectares of natural vegetation and associated biodiversity within their boundaries and promoting and raising environmental awareness in South Africa and abroad.
The Garden Route
This is a series of bays, cliffs, beaches and towns, stretching hundreds of
kilometres from Heidelberg in the west to the Tsitsikamma Forest in the East. Attractions along the route include Ostrich Farms, the Cango Caves and the world's longest wine route - home to some
glorious wine estates. The Garden Route offers some of the best boat based whale watching in the world. there are township tours, museums, lovely old buildings, funky craft shops, markets, art galleries and loads of live music venues as well.
Beaches
South Africa has thousands of kilometres of pristine coastline, with safe swimming areas, superb surfing conditions as well as offering excellent fishing opportunities for any angler. South Africa has a 3,000km coastline with thousands of beaches, some of which are more appealing than others. Popular beaches include: Bloubergstrand Beaches,Atlantic Seaboard Beaches and False Bay Beaches.
